Evidence of Old Age...

Ain't we pretty?

Hi Y'all,

Well, Christmas is going to be here faster than we can blink. I called my kids tonight to see what's going on with them and if they were going to show up to Jamie and Jenn's. Lyle is supposed to be working Saturday, and doesn't know when he will be off. So... If nothing else, I'll stop to pick up the babies. Dana Lynn will be there as will Daniel. Reckon 2 out of 3 aint bad.

I wanted to thank everyone involved in that little secret of a 50th birthday party for me. Seriously, how you all got Morgan involved is beyond me. But I'm glad that you did. Shocked I was. I wasn't wanting to celebrate too much, till Beth told me that the alternative was not being here for my 50th. Guess it's a good thing God knew better than I. So to allow the one's who couldn't attend the shindig, I thought I would post some more pictures or as the kids use to call them "uglies". Again, thanks to everyone! You made me feel very special. By the way, I did post several of them on my other blog. *ahem* You could always drop by for a visit.

They made me Queen for the Day...or maybe Queen of the Evening! I even got my own tiara!

Cool! Presents... Just in case some of y'all haven't met Morgan yet, that's him behind me.

Oh yea!! Momma gave me a Doughmakers cookie sheet! Eat your heart out girls!

Talking to Gwen, Morgan, Sissy. Moni, Gunnar and Sharon in the background.

Now for the morning after... We had a partial sibling sleep-over. Wish we all could have been here.

Sissy at the kitchen table for breakfast.

Beth eating cake for her breakfast. That Red Velvet Cake was delicious!!

Susan in all her morning glory, preparing to leave. Let's hope she gets dressed first.

Lordy, I sure do look like I have a hang over, don't I? But I swear I didn't!

Yup, Susan got dressed and even did her hair up. Ain't she beauuuteefull??

And there you have all of us in our natural habitat. I say we's sure is purty...

Much love, hugs and kisses from my house to yours!

First time blogger

OK - so I'm new to the world of blogging. I'd thought I'd give this a whirl so that Lynnis doesn't feel like she's all alone in the Pierce Family Happenings blogging world. I can't guarantee that I can keep up with it quite as well as Lynnis does, but I'll try to post periodically.

So...we just returned from the sunny tropics of Florida on Sunday after spending Thanksgiving weekend with my mom, Jim, and Jim's daughters and their families. We had a wonderful time kayaking down 9 miles of Turner River (part of the Everglades) which dumped us out into Chokoloskee Bay (which empties into the Gulf of Mexico). Let's just say all passengers survived the 9 miles of kayaking adventure expect for one of us who pooped out about 3.5 miles downstream. I told my adventuresome mother to please be sure to ease us into the adventure next time, instead of signing us up for 9 miles! What in the heck was she thinking!?!?!?! We did see some awesome sights during this trip (especially while my kayak was being towed for a time behind Jim's kayak!) The next day we took an airboat ride where we saw about 10 or so gators. That was cool. I think that was the highlight of our trip. Later that evening, we boarded the "Shark", which took us on an 1.5 hour sunset evening cruise through a few of the Ten Thousand Islands and part of the Gulf of Mexico. Many birds, including pelicans, thrive on the Ten Thousand Islands and we even got to see a Bald Eagle perched on a Mangrove Tree. That was awesome!
The kiddos enjoyed the plane ride as it was Drake's first airplane ride and the first one that Tera remembers. It was fun listening to some of their comments while taking off and landing on the airplane. So, the trip was great and it sure was good to get to see my Mommy.

Looking forward to Christmas on the 20th at our house.......I've put somewhat of a menu together, so I'll e-mail that to everyone in the next couple of days.

Well.....I hope this "blog" worked. Hugs and kisses to all!
